My formal education includes a Bachelor’s in Physical Education and a Master’s Degree in
Kinesiology from the University of Illinois at Chicago with a License in Massage from the
Chicago School of Massage Therapy. Beginning in 1986 my informal but equally valuable
education has come from all the experiences I have had working in a variety of health clubs,
spas, yoga studios, private homes and corporate fitness centers here in Chicago and in Telluride,
Colorado.
As for yoga, in 1998 I was certified by the Himalayan Institute as a yoga teacher and it was during
that time that I was introduced to the most balanced and gentle system of yoga that I have ever
experienced. To describe my teaching style, it’s eclectic, having been influenced by so many
wonderful teachers. However I do love a slow flow with attention to alignment - the foundation of
it all being present moment awareness and attention to the breath.
I feel an unending sense of gratitude to be able to share the practice of yoga and bodywork
with the most wonderful students and clients – I am continually inspired by them. Exploring the
science of yoga feels like a path that is ever expanding - it is my hopeful intention to not just know
this path, but to walk it.
Favorite teachers and influences –
Locally - Megan Dunne, Sensei John and Elisa Au Fonseca and my mentor Jackie Walker
Not so locally – Eckart Tolle, Monty Roberts, Abraham-Hicks, Linda Tellington-Jones, Temple
Grandin and everyone (including the horses and dolphins) at Epona Equestrian Center and
Dolphin Expeditions
